I am a qualified Japanese teacher certified to teach Japanese as a foreign language, obtained licences in UK and Japan. My experiences include teaching at schools in Australia and the UK, to students ranging from 4 to 60 years old. At a school in Paris, I taught 65 students from beginner to advanced level. In Amsterdam, 17 private students and succeed to make them pass JLPT tests.
I grew up in Japan and spend 11 years in Tokyo from my university days. Previously, I used to work for a financial institution and a management consulting firm.
When I was 8 years old living in the countryside in Japan, I met an American-Japanese neighbor who became my mentor in my life.
Even after she moved back to US, we exchanged letters for over 2 decades. Her letters, pictures, and books were magical things which showed me a completely new world. My limited world expanded by learning a different language, which brought me lots of wonderful meetings with new cultures and people.
During my university years, I was acquainted with the joy of teaching and helping the educational development of students when I dedicated my time to volunteering for childrens whose mother language is not Japanese.
Through these experiences, I have developed a desire to convey the joy of learning a language and the possibility it unlocks, and to be a help for making Japanese learners' dreams and goals come true.
